Bill Fortney : Andrew, have you ever heard the 1980’s Polk SDA2B speakers, they are much like the Magnat Transpuls. In their day they were highly rated.

Truesonic TS3 from Alto Professional:

Expectations Exceeded.

The new Alto Professional Truesonic TS3 Series does everything you demand in a no-compromise family of professional loudspeakers. These speakers solve every performance and installation challenge you have. They are high-performance in every sense: Their new transducers and amplifiers enable them to play extremely loud and clear, without compromise or restriction. And they are “high-performance” from a concept and manufacturing standpoint—we made sure that every aspect of their design outperformed what it had to do. The end result is loudspeakers that achieve a level of excellence and refinement that defies expectations. Defies your expectations.

There are four models in the new TS3 range: The TS308, TS310, TS312, and TS315, with 8-10-12- and 15-inch woofers respectively. The range shares a new 2000-watt peak (1000-watt continuous) amplifier, a significant advance over the 1100-watt peak (550-watt continuous) amplifiers in the TS2.

The four models boast all-new low-frequency drivers, designed to play louder and handle more power than their already-impressive predecessors, the wildly successful TS2 Series. They also have a new horn-loaded high-frequency driver. This impressive transducer has a brand-new heat sink design that provides exceptional heat dissipation for impressive power handling, even at all-night-long concert levels. Because these new drivers can safely handle the additional power, the TS3’s take full advantage of the increased wattage and will play at higher SPLs with lower distortion.

We’ve even made the TS3’s easier to use, with an updated control panel and clearer control indications and detents that make for a faster, more precise setup.

2000 watts of bi-amplified power, newly-designed drivers and easier, more satisfying controls and set up—the new TS3 range doesn’t merely meet your requirements. It makes you re-think what’s possible.

Allan Carter : This brand gets a lot of bad press. I have had a pair of original ts12 300 Watts rms. Had them for 4 years never let me down and even hired them out to small bands. If you run your desk properly then you will be OK.
undercrackers56 : I have a pair of passive Alto 315s used with a Yamaha Powered Desk (500W RMS clean per chan). I can attest that the sound is amazing and even allows for the bass player to plug directly into the desk for those occasions when he turns up to the gig but forgets his combo amp. They are a bit heavy to lift off the poles at the end of a gig. Of course the drummer is busy with his kit and the bass player has sloped off for a smoke and the singer is too precious to indulge in any manual work. Sound familiar?
Payam Masjedi : Got a pair about 6 months ago and used them every weekend for wedding dj, party dj and karaoke shows and they're doing an amazing job with enough bass and superb volume for up to 80 people.
Still deciding about the subwoofer, as I was wondering shall I pair it with 15" or 18"... I think one 18" should suffice but still deciding.
DJCHINOTSP : I have a pair of these and these things bump. great low ends and used them on many weddings with 100-200 people with no problem. ready to get the sub.
DJ Ron The Mechanic : I’ve had my Alto speakers for 10 years and never had to replace a driver. TS112A
